Curriculum

Junior Secondary (S1-S3)
Our school provides a broad and balanced junior secondary curriculum covering all eight Key Learning Areas (KLAs): Chinese Language Education, English Language Education, Mathematics Education, Science Education, Technology Education, Personal, Social & Humanities Education, Arts Education, and Physical Education. The curriculum also aims at building a strong foundation for our students to prepare for the senior secondary curriculum. As such, the three core subjects, namely English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, account for a total of 47% of the total lesson time at each junior secondary level.

Senior Secondary (S4-S6)
The Education Bureau has announced the implementation of the NSS academic structure commencing from September 2009. Under the new academic structure, all students will receive six years of secondary education (three junior and three senior). After six years’ secondary education, students will attend the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) for admission to tertiary institutes through the Joint University Programmes Admission System (JUPAS).

Remarks:

  1. Students have to take the 4 core subjects (Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics and Liberal Studies) and 2 to 3 elective subjects in the senior secondary curriculum.
  2. “Citizenship and Social Development” will replace Liberal Studies starting from Secondary 4 in the 2021/22 school year.

  3. Aesthetic Learning – the curriculum under Aesthetic Learning will cover the following topics: Cantonese Opera and Installation Art (Secondary 4), Theatre Studies (Secondary 5) and Film Appreciation (Secondary 6).
