On 15 July, 2024, the senior students of the English Debate Team travelled to St. Margaret’s Co-Educational English Secondary And Primary School for the Grand Final of the Hong Kong Secondary Schools English Debating Competition. The motion for the debate was “This House Would cap the number of tourists visiting cultural and natural heritage sites.” Representing the negative side, the True Light Debaters skilfully argued that such a ban would not effectively address the issues raised by the affirmative team and could potentially lead to more problems. With confidence and style, we claimed the Champion trophy. Jes Cheng from 4C was also recognized as the best debater in the match.
