Afterthoughts of Mr. CHOW (Teacher in-charge)
In March 2021, due to the pandemic, almost all extracurricular activities had to be suspended. At that time, the HKAYP followed international arrangements and approved the continuation of outdoor training courses after taking adequate epidemic prevention measures. From that, our school arranged for the Bronze-level expedition to be held from April to June, which is not typically scheduled. I remember the assessment took place on 22 and 23 May, 2021 during a Very Hot Weather Warning. 22 students from S2 and S3 participated that year.
In the summer and autumn of 2022, some students continued to participate in the progressive Silver-level programme, joining another class of students directly enrolled in the Silver-level programme for exploration courses. I came across another challenge, where students had to complete their vaccinations before participating in activities. It was not easy, but after several postponements, we successfully launched the course.
Today, seeing 9 True Light girls being awarded the AYP Silver Award, I am filled with gratitude. Witnessing everyone’s joy in receiving the award brings great satisfaction. I hope all of you will continue to face every challenge in the future with the same enthusiasm and determination. Girls, keep up your good work!
