Once again, our school’s Math Team successfully organised the True Light Girls’ Invitational Mathematics Contest. This competition aspires to challenge mathematically gifted years 7-10 local students and foster the joy of learning Mathematics. We are glad that over 40 schools took part in the competition enthusiastically this year.
Each party of the Math Team strives to create a pleasant experience for our contestants, from setting questions to modifying the solutions, and from the preparation of problem solving to training our presentation skills. Further, we would like to extend credit to our receptionists and markers. We hope participants can have an enjoyable experience here while competing.
With the hard work of teachers, chairladies and committee members, we provided a welcoming environment for all the guests. In the explanatory session, with the accumulated experience of previous years, we were able to make use of the note-taking apps to demonstrate our questions to the participants. It’s contenting to see the contestants’ desperate expressions when presenting the solutions to them.
As the Chairlady, Kelly claimed that with the experience from last year, many things ran much smoother this year. “It’s my second and last time taking part in this. Despite the minor problems faced, I had a fruitful experience cooperating with the vice-chairlady and committee members. The outcome surely is satisfactory and I’m glad our hard work paid off,” she said.
