S1 Science STEAM Project Homemade “Vacuum Cleaner”
The school has organized an experiential workshop for the Secondary 1 students on making their own “vacuum cleaner”. Scientific knowledge related to the junior science curriculum was embedded in the workshop. During the workshop, students collaborated with their classmates to make the vacuum cleaner using the materials they prepared. They demonstrated excellent design thinking skills and applied scientific knowledge to improve their designs.
S1 micro:bit Rocket Car workshop
Another hands-on session for our Secondary 1 students to participate in is a workshop to build rocket cars. During the program, students learned the fundamentals of force and motion. They then created their own rocket car using an IT testing app. They were involved in an activity and had a mini-competition. They gained a greater comprehension of scientific concepts through hands-on and mind-on exercises.
