In late April and early May, the S4 Citizenship and Social Development subject hosted a captivating tea workshop to immerse students in the history and essence of Chinese tea culture. With student tea ambassadors leading the way, the workshop showcased demonstrations and group trials on six categories of tea. The hands-on experience provided students with a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity, with Chinese tea culture as the focal point in Hong Kong society.

Following the workshop, students were prompted to engage in thought-provoking discussions around the preservation of traditional Chinese tea culture in Hong Kong. As a more innovative approach, students were then tasked with devising a plan as a group project to promote this culture throughout the community. This workshop did not only broaden students’ cultural horizons, but also empowered them to take action towards promoting and preserving the traditional Chinese tea culture in their community.
