In June 2024, 22 S2-S5 students participated in a 5-day Taiwan Cultural and Religious Exchange Tour to Kaohsiung, where they were provided with the opportunity to gain insights into the diverse traditions and vibrant Christian faith of Taiwan’s indigenous communities.

During the tour, students visited various churches, participated in a prayer walk within the community, and interacted with local pastors and young people. One of the most remarkable dialogues was meeting pastors who shared their faith through unique endeavors, such as operating a food stall in a night market or establishing a noodle restaurant next to their church. These stories served as examples of how faith can be lived out in daily life.

“Hearing and seeing different people’s stories was inspiring. The best part was how they didn’t just tell the gospel but actually show it in their practice, helping more people know God. And seeing their joy touched me deeply.” – S4 Wong Yuet Eliza

In addition to these cultural and religious explorations, students participated in a service at a co-life home (匠愛家園) for the homeless and the disabled. Here, they led worship sessions, organized games, and assisted with cleaning tasks. This service initiative aimed to instill values of compassion and empathy while allowing students to make a positive impact on the community.

“Volunteering to clean toilets made me more willing to do work hard and serve people in need. I learnt how great Jesus was when he came down from heaven to serve and teach us about God’s love. It was very memorable and ignited my passion in serving and helping those around me.” – S3 Wong Wing Hei

“In the co-life home, I encountered God. Though we are all imperfect, people are full of love and very accepting, which made me feel the love of God present among us.” – S2 Tam Heung Ching

As students return from this enriching experience, they bring back not just memories but also a broader understanding of different cultures and a deeper connection with God. May the lessons learned and experiences gained continue to inspire our school community to embrace diversity, practice kindness, and shine Jesus’ light in the world.
