Congratulation to our 2018 graduate, Miss WOO Ching-tung - awardee of the Multi-faceted Excellence Scholarship
15.10.2018

Our 2017-18 S6 graduate, WOO Ching-tung (胡靖桐), received the 2018 Multi-faceted Excellence Scholarship(多元卓越獎學金). Congratulations!

This year 21 students from the territory have received the Scholarship. The Scholarship was launched by the Home Affairs Bureau(民政事務局)of HKSAR in 2014 to foster a culture of multifaceted excellence to support local universities and tertiary institutions in admitting local undergraduate students who excel in sports, arts and/or community services, providing an alternative path for students with talents to receive higher education. Full scholarships will be granted to the awardees for undergraduate study in local universities and post-secondary institutions.

Ching Tung has been very active in serving Red Cross Youth Unit 42 since Secondary 1 and became the Head Section Leader in Secondary 5. As she demonstrated an excellent and outstanding performance in Red Cross persistently throughout the years, she won the Red Cross Youth of the Year in 2016, which is the highest level of appreciation. She is all-rounded and won the Best Leader and Champion in Youth Nursing Competition, and the first runner-up in Friendship Functions Creativity Competition in 2016-17. In 2016, she obtained the Youth Instructor Service Award (Gold) in teaching a training course for 60 hours, and became the flag-raising representative of Red Cross (Hong Kong Island Division) at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai in February.
Ching Tung’s contribution is not only highly recognized by Red Cross, but also by the Home Affairs Bureau and Social Welfare Department of HKSAR. She obtained the Grantham Uniformed Youth Groups Outstanding Service Award and the Outstanding Youth Volunteer Award in 2017. To understand more about the International Red Cross Movement, she joined the 10000 Miles Friendship Trek to Ningxia, Beijing and Inner Mongolia, and the International Exchange Programme to Incheon in Korea in 2014 and 2016 respectively. At school, she is also highly reliable and worthy of trust. She led Red Cross very well and was able to win the love and support of her peers.

Ching Tung is undoubtedly enthusiastic in serving the community. She is now studying BSc (Hons) in Nursing in the Polytechnic University. (理工大學護理課程) Congratulations once again to Ching Tung!
